About Me

Hello, I am Sofia.
I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist and I am originally from Sardinia, Italy.

I studied Psychology at the University of the West of Scotland, and I have a Master's degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Derby.

I also had the opportunity to volunteer at the Derby Women's Centre and at SARAC (Sexual Assault and Rape Advice Centre).

My most recent role before private practice was Mental Health Adviser at Huddersfield University, where I worked for 5 years.

While working, I also completed my EMDR training, and since then I have been passionate about incorporating this to my practice for the treatment of trauma.

The people around me know I am an avid reader, and there is nothing I love more than being on a sunny beach reading the latest fantasy bestseller.

I love animals and I am always happy to see my clients' pets make an appearance during our video calls.

My Approach

My therapeutic approach is warm and collaborative, focusing on the unique needs of each individual. I utilise an integrative style that combines various modalities, including:

  • Attachment theory

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Person-Centered Therapy

  • EMDR

I believe that everyone is different, and I tailor my methods accordingly, ensuring that my practice is more than a one-size-fits-all solution.

Therapy with me is an open and collaborative process where I will support you to understand yourself better and to implement practical changes in your life.

What you can expect is some gentle but firm challenges, so you can change your point of view and start seeing a difference in your day to day life.
